The ARDL, which is administratively housed within the MSU CVM Department of Pathobiology & Population Medicine, focuses on disease diagnostics, water quality testing, and fish health management.  It works closely with the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES), the MSU Extension Service, and the USDA–ARS Warmwater Aquaculture Unit.

The ARDL provides research support for collaborative projects involving catfish genetics, reproduction, nutrition, water quality management, and biosecurity, along with efforts to control molluscan and avian pests. Through these partnerships, the ARDL helps support the profitability and long-term sustainability of Mississippi’s farm-raised catfish industry.
